Wagwan! I’m Shako Wangio, a photographer with roots in the vibrant Eastland’s of Nairobi, Kenya, and now based in the diverse and dynamic city of Seattle, Washington. My journey as a photographer has been shaped by the contrasts and connections between these two places, both of which fuel my work with rich stories, cultures, and unique perspectives.
Through my lens, I aim to capture the beauty in everyday moments, the unspoken stories of people, and the intricate details that often go unnoticed. My style is deeply influenced by my East African heritage, where community, color, and connection are at the heart of everything. Living in Seattle has broadened my vision, allowing me to fuse these influences into something uniquely my own.
Whether it is portraiture, street photography, or landscapes, I strive to create images that evoke emotion, spark curiosity and invite viewers to look at the world through a different lens.
Thank you for taking time to explore my work! I hope it resonates with you, and perhaps, we can collaborate to create something truly special.
